The Special Collections of the BLX Network
The BLX Network’s collection, distributed across its libraries and with some of its resources available online via the Digital Periodicals Library, offers readers the opportunity to explore the past, through documents from different historical periods, as well as look to the future, with a focus on current and relevant titles offering diverse perspectives.
The collection is constantly growing to reflect the latest trends, major contemporary debates, and the needs of the community.
From novels and graphic novels to poetry, short stories, biographies and children’s books, as well as an extensive non-fiction collection covering many fields, including the social sciences, mathematics, history and gastronomy, the BLX Network collection is available in Portuguese, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Ukrainian. It encompasses a similarly diverse range of formats, including books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, Braille materials, and print and digital periodicals. These can be accessed either through the Digital Periodicals Library or the PressReader platform, which offers more than 7,000 newspaper and magazine titles from various countries.
